About Our Leather
Full-Grain Hide
Black leather that actually earns its colour. Our hides are full-grain Australian cowhide — the surface left untouched, the natural grain visible. No correction layer, no artificial sheen. Just leather that darkens and deepens with every carry.
Aniline Dyed
Our black is achieved through aniline dyeing — colour worked through the hide, not painted on top. The result is a depth that synthetic finishes can't replicate. Rich, consistent, and true to the leather beneath it.
Naturally Milled
Each hide is tumbled to bring out softness and natural texture before cutting. Nothing embossed. Nothing forced. The leather arrives soft and breaks in gradually — getting better the more you use it.

WHY A BLACK LEATHER BAG BELONGS IN YOUR WARDROBE
Australian full-grain leather is a natural by-product of the meat industry — making it one of the more sustainable material choices available. Unlike synthetic alternatives, it won't shed microplastics or wear out, it wears in. A Wolff Studios leather bag for women isn't designed for a season, it's designed to move with you for years.
Our leather is sourced from LWG Gold-rated tanneries, tanned using SFERE technology to reduce water and chemical impact, and finished with REACH-certified dyes. Every hide is 100% traceable to origin.

How It's Made
Our bags are handcrafted in small batches by skilled artisans working in SA8000 and ISO 14001 certified facilities in India. Every stitch is set by hand. Every edge is finished with care. Fair wages, safe working conditions, and responsible environmental management are built into every step of our production process — not bolted on as an afterthought.

Frequently Asked Questions
Full-grain leather is actually one of the easier materials to care for. A light condition every few months is all it needs. Unlike bonded or corrected leather, full-grain doesn't crack or peel — it develops a natural patina that makes it look better over time.
Aniline-dyed leather can lighten slightly in areas of heavy use over time — this is a natural characteristic of quality leather, not a flaw. It adds character. If you want to restore depth, a good leather conditioner will bring it back.
Full-grain leather will pick up light surface marks with everyday use — again, this is normal and part of how the leather develops. Most marks buff out easily. The hide underneath is extremely durable.
Our black leather range includes tote bags, work bags and commuter styles. Most of our core styles are available in black — it's our most popular colourway.
Wipe down with a slightly damp cloth for everyday dirt. For deeper cleaning, use a leather cleaner designed for aniline or full-grain hides. Avoid harsh soaps or alcohol-based products which can dry the leather out.
